The origins, nature, and purposes of sacramental confraternities are essential aspects for understanding the flourishing of these brotherhoods in the Catholic world, especially after the Council of Trent. An example can be found in the case of the Córdoba town of Espejo: a confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament that emerged in a rural setting and reached heights of true splendor. Universidad de Córdoba Press has published the book "Poesía femenina inglesa de la Restauración (Estudio y Traducción)", authored by Angeles García Calderón and Juan de Dios Torralbo Caballero, which explores the creative legacy of ten women poets. Following an examination of the sociocultural context of the second half of the seventeenth century, the work provides readers with a carefully curated selection of poems presented in bilingual format. This volume continues the line of research established in the authors' previous work on seventeenth-century English women's poetry (Letra capital, Valencia 2009).
