Grants for the Maintenance and Improvement of Editorial Quality in Scientific Journals

Objective

This call for proposals aims to award grants for:

  • Contributing to the maintenance and improvement of the editorial quality of UCO scientific journals.
  • Promoting UCO scientific journals in electronic format that meet recognized quality criteria, such as those of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

Requirements

To be eligible for this call for proposals, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold the status of Teaching and Research Staff or Research Staff at UCO with a permanent appointment.
  • Be in active service.
  • Be a member of the management team of a University of Córdoba journal hosted on our Online Journal Services (OJS) or be a member of its editorial board.

Only one application per applicant and grant category will be accepted.

Application

  • The application period will open the day after the publication of this call for proposals in BOUCO and must be submitted electronically through the University of Córdoba’s Electronic Office (https://sede.uco.es/) by sending a general application addressed to the Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Data Management. Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2025, inclusive.
  • The application must be submitted by attaching the “Application Form for Grants for Maintenance and Improvement of the Editorial Quality of University of Córdoba Journals” form (Annex I) through the University of Córdoba’s Electronic Office. The following information must be included:
    • The project proposal justifying the grant.
    • The budget for the anticipated expenses.
    • The purpose of the requested grant.
    • Details regarding indexing and quality indicators.
    • The commitment to improving quality and indexing.
    • A declaration from the journal’s director/editor stating any other types of funding received by the journal.
  • If any application is submitted incomplete, the applicant will be required to correct the deficiencies or submit the necessary documents within ten calendar days. Failure to do so will result in the application being considered withdrawn and filed without further processing, in accordance with Article 21 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations.
