OPEN SCIENCE

UCOPress Editorial Universidad de Cordoba reaffirms its commitment to Open Science and to the dissemination of knowledge through open access policies that ensure the accessibility, transparency, preservation and sustainability of scientific, academic and teaching-related output.

All scientific journals are published in open access via the institutional portal journals.uco.es. The selection and evaluation of content lie with the editor of each journal, together with their respective editorial committees. These editors also assume ultimate responsibility for the integrity, relevance and quality of the content published in each journal.

Open Access Publication Models

Immediate Open Access

Certain publications —including scientific journals, publicly funded academic books, proceedings and teaching materials— may be made available in full open access with no embargo period.

Partial Open Access

In other cases, limited access to a proportion of the content may be offered, with embargo periods ranging from 6 to 24 months in order to support the sustainability of the publishing model.

Copyright

Authors retain all moral rights. UCOPress is granted a non-exclusive licence for the reproduction, public communication and distribution of the work in the agreed formats.

Peer Review and Editorial Quality

All scientific materials (research books and journals) made available in open access through the OMP and OJS platforms are subject to rigorous evaluation processes equivalent to those applied to commercial publications, involving external reviewers and double-blind peer review systems.

Publishing contract

For each work published in open access, UCOPress and the author shall enter into a publishing contract specifying the rights transferred, the applicable Creative Commons licence, the conditions of digital distribution, any applicable embargo period, and the obligations of both parties. This contract ensures transparency, protection of copyright, and clarity regarding the terms under which the work is disseminated.

Licensing

Works will be published under Creative Commons licenses, preferably CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, unless otherwise agreed.

Identification, Preservation, and Dissemination

All works are assigned a DOI and, in the case of books, an ISBN. Works may also be made available in print format or through a print-on-demand model.

Preservation and dissemination are ensured through the UCOPress systems:
