Juan Pedro Monferrer Sala is a Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Córdoba. He has been a member of several national research groups (in R projects for the Ministry) and international ones (British Council in England, private foundations in Greece and Lebanon, as well as a coordinated European Union project).

A member of the Editorial Committees and Advisory Boards of some twenty national and international scientific journals, he is also the co-director of an internationally impactful journal, co-director of several series and collections, and a member of scientific committees for series from prestigious publishers (Brill, Peeters, Reichert Verlag, or CSIC, among others). Furthermore, he is the author of extensive research work in various fields of Semitic Studies, with a production of 165 articles and 246 critical reviews in specialized scientific journals, 78 book chapters, 48 critical entries in national and international encyclopedias, and 37 books as author, editor, or co-editor.
