The University of Córdoba and UCOPress are taking part in the 17th Spanish Cycling Championship for Doctors with the entry «Explorando a dos ruedas la perla de occidente»

The University of Córdoba, through UCOPress Editorial Universidad de Córdoba, has supported the 17th Spanish Cycling Championship for Doctors, held this Saturday in Córdoba and organised by the Córdoba Medical Association. The event brought together medical professionals from across the country for a day dedicated to promoting physical activity, health and healthy lifestyles.

The sporting event, which took place at various venues across the city, combined competition with educational and awareness-raising activities aimed at the general public, reinforcing the role of sport as a tool for disease prevention and improving quality of life.

Against this backdrop, the University of Córdoba has chosen to join an initiative whose values are closely aligned with its social, educational and cultural commitments. In recognition of the winners in the various categories of the championship, UCOPress has presented copies of the book Explorando a 2 ruedas la perla de Occidente: un viaje en bici por los rincones de Córdoba, a publication that showcases the province’s natural, historical and scenic heritage through a range of cycling routes.

The book, written by Lina Mendoza and published by UCOPress, invites readers to discover Córdoba from a sustainable and healthy perspective, suggesting routes that combine sport, an understanding of the region and enjoyment of the surroundings. The publication demonstrates the University of Córdoba Press’s commitment to disseminating content that contributes to the well-being of the public and the promotion of the province’s heritage.

The University’s involvement in this initiative also strengthens the link between culture, health and sport as complementary areas for the development of a more active society that is aware of and committed to healthy lifestyles.

Elisa Borsari, Director-General of Culture and UCOPress, took part in the awards ceremony, joining the championship organisers and the award winners on a day that combined sporting endeavour, socialising and the promotion of health.
