“Evaluación del cambio curricular en Andalucía,” New Book from the University of Córdoba Publications Service

Within the framework of institutional evaluation of curricular change, this book presents the doctoral thesis of its author, Manuel Carrillo Castillo, studying and assessing the implementation process of Compulsory Secondary Education in a newly established secondary school in the town of Priego de Córdoba. The research develops a theoretical framework on the evaluation of school change and change policy in Andalusia. Regarding the former, it considers models and trends in evaluation and quality, as well as the school evaluation model of Andalusia. Concerning change policy, it reviews documents and legislation regarding curricular and organizational change, teacher professionalization, and evaluation.

Assessing the formal implementation process of Compulsory Secondary Education in a secondary school, clarifying the conditions and initiation of the stage’s implementation with attention to the cultural characteristics of the institution, and analyzing the educational community’s use of curricular change are therefore the contents of the three hundred pages of this work—published by the University of Córdoba Publications Service—from which a series of particularly valuable conclusions for professionals and scholars are drawn.
