The University of Córdoba Publishing Service, in collaboration with the Provincial Council, has published the book “La maternidad en los textos gnósticos cristianos” with which its author Saray García Muñiz won the XIII Leonor de Guzmán Award, organized by the Chair of Women’s Studies of the same name. This work analyzes the consideration of motherhood within Gnostic Christian communities through their sacred texts, not only concerning liturgy and evangelization but also daily life, in order to ascertain its impact and the social implications for women in these groups.

Similarly, the book investigates whether, through this exclusively feminine condition, women occupied a place of honor and privilege within their cosmogony and society. To do this, it draws on both orthodox and heretical literature as primary documentary sources for study.
