Synopsis

A monograph with texts by Federico Castro Morales and Caroline Krabbe, published in conjunction with the exhibition "María Belén Morales: Forms in Dialogue," which, after being shown at UCOCultura and the Botí Foundation in 2024, will travel to the Nerja Museum from July 23, 2026, to September 20, 2026. The publication is lavishly illustrated. The exhibition revolves around the artist's discourse on identifying with the landscapes of territories as diverse as the volcanic landscape of her native island, the Cordoba countryside, and the mountains of the Axarquía region of Malaga. Her journey through these landscapes over the course of a decade accompanies an artistic evolution in the fields of collage and sculpture that leads her toward abstraction.

The publication includes a text by the exhibition curator and another by Federico Castro Morales.

Federico Castro Morales, Universidad Carlos III

Catedrático de la UC3M. Compagina la labor universitaria, el comisariado, la gestión cultural y la organización de reuniones científicas. Creador del grupo TIEDPAAN (1991) (IP hasta 1996). Director científico del proyecto ARCODATA LATINO-AMÉRICA (1997-2000). Participa en las actividades del grupo TRAVERS de la Universidad París VIII (1998 y 1999). Colabora con el centro de investigación VALS (Le Voyage dans les Arts, la Littérature et les Sciences) de la Universidad de Reims. Participa con la Universidad Paris IV (Sorbona) en los seminarios sobre Fotografía e Historia. Evaluador de la Agencia Nacional de Evaluación (1995-). Coordinador de Artes Plásticas del Cabildo de Gran Canaria y Consejero Delegado del Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno de Gran Canaria, 2007-2010). Presidente de la Fundación Pública Move be Moved (MBM), en constitución. 
Investigador del Grupo Lenguajes de la UCO (2026-).
