Second edition, revised and expanded (now in two volumes), of the Guide to the Trees and Shrubs of North Africa, by Jesús Charco and originally published by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECI) in 2001. That book covers the most important species for biodiversity conservation and the fight against desertification in North Africa: native trees and shrubs that enrich the landscape, create and protect soil and moisture, and provide refuge for wildlife.
This new edition includes all species of trees, shrubs, subshrubs, and woody lianas found in North Africa. For identification purposes, it features dichotomous keys, updated taxonomy, extensive morphological descriptions, information on flowering and fruiting periods, distribution maps, and a carefully curated selection of more than 1,500 photographs.
