Carbunclo. La Edad de Góngora, creada por UCOPress Editorial Universidad de Códoba, bajo el patrocinio del Excelentísimo Ayuntamiento de Córdoba, es una colección que rescata, difunde y promociona ediciones filológicas según el método lachmanniano y monografías sobre la poesía, la narrativa, el teatro, la retórica y la predicación de lo que hemos dado en llamar la «Edad de Góngora», sin duda la cumbre del Siglo de Oro de las letras peninsulares y de los virreinatos de Ultramar (1526-1681). Publica contribuciones de valor reconocido a cargo de organismos, investigadores, equipos y universidades tanto nacionales como internacionales.

Los originales evaluados por el Comité Científico se ceñirán a los dos siglos del Imperio de los Austrias. Las ediciones críticas se definen por la colación de todos los testimonios supérstites, la fijación de un estema (cuando sea posible), una sólida constitutio textus y una introducción y notas de veras rigurosas. Cierra cada texto un aparato crítico positivo. Respecto a las monografías, se publicarán aquellas que, por su calidad, supongan un salto cualitativo dentro de los géneros mayores y menores de la Edad de Góngora. También se rescatarán textos inéditos (o mal éditos) de dicho periodo y se traducirán y/o reeditarán obras cuya importancia, antigüedad, naturaleza y/o dificultad idiomática así lo aconsejen.

El método que vertebra la colección se basa en el rigor y la honestidad, ya que Carbunclo. La Edad de Góngora ha de competir dentro de un mercado, no solo académico, y cumplir con la más noble filología a la hora de explotar sus recursos. Aspira a convertirse en una referencia internacional dentro del campo de la edición y los estudios áureoseculares.

Los originales destinados a su evaluación para posible publicación en la colección Carbunclo. La edad de Góngora deberán enviarse a través de la plataforma OMP de UCOPress, accesible en el siguiente enlace: Plataforma de publicaciones UCOPress.

Autoría y autoarchivo

En el contrato de edición se disponen las condiciones de autoría, que establecen que el autor es el propietario de la propiedad intelectual, además debe responder de su originalidad  y garantizar que no ha contraído con anterioridad, ni contraerá, compromisos o gravámenes de ningún tipo que sean susceptibles de atentar contra los derechos que le corresponden a UCOPress Editorial de la Universidad de Córdoba.

Con carácter general, UCOPress Editorial Universidad de Córdoba autoriza el depósito en repositorios institucionales de acceso abierto (en el caso de la Universidad de Córdoba, Helvia) de las versiones manuscritas originales de las publicaciones incluidas en esta Colección que hayan contado con financiación pública. En el resto de casos, se establece un periodo de 2 años (24 meses) para realizar dicho depósito. Transcurrido ese tiempo, los autores podrán solicitar autorización a la dirección de la editorial para depositar, asimismo en repositorios institucionales de acceso abierto, un archivo electrónico de sus trabajos.

Carbunclo. La Edad de Góngora, created by UCOPress Editorial Universidad de Córdoba under the patronage of the Excellent City Hall of Cordoba, is a collection devoted to the recovery, dissemination and promotion of philological editions based on the Lachmannian method, as well as monographs on poetry, narrative, drama, rhetoric and preaching from what we have termed the “Age of Góngora”—undoubtedly the pinnacle of the Golden Age of Iberian literature and that of the overseas viceroyalties (1526–1681). The collection publishes contributions of recognised scholarly value produced by institutions, researchers, research groups and universities, both national and international.

Manuscripts evaluated by the Scientific Committee must fall within the two centuries of the Habsburg Empire. Critical editions are characterised by the collation of all surviving witnesses, the establishment of a stemma (where possible), a sound constitutio textus, and a rigorously scholarly introduction and annotation. Each text concludes with a positive critical apparatus. As for monographs, the Collection publishes works whose quality, represent a qualitative advance within the major and minor genres of the Age of Góngora. It also seeks to recover unpublished (or inadequately edited) texts from the period, as well as to translate and/or reissue works whose importance, antiquity, nature and/or linguistic difficulty so warrant.

The methodological framework of the collection is founded on rigour and intellectual honesty, since Carbunclo must compete in a publishing landscape that is not exclusively academic, while adhering to the highest standards of philology in the use and exploitation of its sources. The Collection aspires to become an international reference in the field of editing and Golden Age studies.

 

Manuscript Submission and Editorial Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted for evaluation with a view to possible publication in the Carbunclo Collection must be submitted through the UCOPress’s Open Monograph Press (OMP) platform, accessible at the following link: UCOPress Publishing Platform.

Editorial Policy

The process of submission and evaluation of manuscripts, as well as the digital policy for this Collection, is governed by the general guidelines of UCOPress, available at the following link: Editorial Policy.

 

Authorship and Self-Archiving

The publishing contract sets out the authorship conditions, which stablish that the author is the holder of the intellectual property rights to the work. The author must also warrant its originality of the work and guarantee that no prior commitments or encumbrances have been entered into, nor will be entered into, that could infringe upon the rights vesting in UCOPress Editorial Universidad de Córdoba.

As a general rule, UCOPress Editorial Universidad de Córdoba authorises the deposit of the original manuscript versions in open-access institutional repositories (in the case of the University of Cordoba, Helvia) for publications included in this Collection that have received public funding. In all other cases, a two-year (24-month) period is established for such deposit. After this period, authors may request authorisation from the Press to deposit, likewise in open-access institutional repositories, an electronic file of their works.
